Arnon Palty
Composer,Arranger,Teacher and a Bass Player.Arnon is one Of Israel's most veteran Jazz musicians.Following classical studies of the string-bass,guitar and Piano at his youth, Arnon joined "The Israeli Navy Band" where he had commited mandatory military service for 3 years. Right after that, Arnon has joined a wokshop established by Israeli veteran Jazz Drummer Aharale Kaminsky which was dedicated to perform John Coltrane's Music.This workshop finally got into performances throughout the Israeli Jazz scene. During that period Arnon also got involved in performing and recording with top popular music artists. to name a few-the list includes Yoni Rechter, Gidi Gov,Yehudith Ravitz, Shlomo Artsi, Arik Einstein,Yossi Banai, Shimeon Israeli, Shlomo Yidov, and the "Sixteen Lamb" .
While living in the U.S.A. for nearly 12
years,Arnon has accomplished his B.M degree at "Berklee
School Of Music", Boston,Ma and his M.M degree in "manhattan
School Of Music, Ny,Ny.During residing in the states he also
played with Norbert Stachell(Tower of Power) , Mike Hyman (Gary
Burton) , Gary Fischer ,Ben Monder,Roland Vasquez and many more.At
the Blues/Rock venue Arnon has performed in a super- group
combined by two legendary bands:The greatful dead and the Blues-Project.The
project was televised by San-Francisco's major Cable tv station.Arnon
has taught at the "Center Of Performing Arts" in
Richmond ,California and for the last 9 years has been teaching
Harmony.Theory, Ear-Training, Arranging, Survey classes and Bass
at the Israeli Berklee-affiliated "Rimon School Of Music".
During "on-campus" performances/Workshops at" Rimon" Arnon performed as a Faculy host with Jazz greats such as Benny Golson,Lee Konitz , Didier Lockwood, Jeremy Davenport ,Dave Liebman and Terry Lyn Carrington.In 1988 Arnon has Toured India with Danny Gottfried's "ISRAELI JAZZ ALLSTARS", featuring Danny Gottfried on Piano,Mamelo Gaetonopolos on Trumpet and Tenor Saxophne,Albert Piamenta on Alto Saxophone, Aharale Kaminsky on Drums/Percussion and Arnon on Bass. The band has performed thrughout India to critic aclaim-and the highlight was two concerts featuring the great Zakir Hussein on Tabla and Indian Percussion.Arnon has led a couple of projects for the international "Red Sea Festival" , in the Jazz and Soul idioms.His Cd "Pocket Size Pocket" gained 5 stars in critic polls and is sold in Europe and the U.S.A.
